چکیده

Introduction Resting heart rate (HR) and variability (HRV) have been linked with cognition in the general population older individuals. The knowledge of this aspect heart-brain relationship is relatively absent individuals early Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathology. This study explores relationships HR, HRV, cognitively healthy pathological amyloid/tau ratio (CH-PATs) cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) compared to those normal (CH-NATs). Methods We examined between 1) resting HR Mini‐Mental State Examination (MMSE); 2) brain processing during Stroop interference; 3) vagally mediated HRV (vmHRV) task switching performance. Results Our studies showed that CH-NATs, CH-PATs higher presented lower MMSE, less activation interference processing. In addition, vmHRV was significantly correlated accuracy but not CH-PATs. Discussion These three different tests indicate dysfunctional connections CH-PATs, suggesting a potential cardio-cerebral integration.

Level of agreement between heart rate variability and pulse rate variability in healthy individuals.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE According to international standards, autonomic function is assessed by heart rate variability (HRV) calculated from R-R intervals obtained with an electrocardiogram (ECG). However, intra-operative movement artefacts and electrical interference may complicate R-wave detection. Pulse rate variability (PRV) derived from continuous blood pressure measurements may provide a...

Resting Heart Rate Variability, Facets of Rumination and Trait Anxiety: Implications for the Perseverative Cognition Hypothesis

The perseverative cognition hypothesis (PCH) posits that perseveration, defined as the repetitive or sustained activation of cognitive representations of a real or imagined stressor, is a primary mechanism linking psychological (or stress) vulnerability with poor health and disease. Resting vagally mediated heart rate variability (vmHRV) is an important indicator of self-regulatory abilities, s...

Heart rate variability in healthy newborn infants.

In adults and older children, heart rate variability (HRV) is frequently used to study autonomic function noninvasively. Normal values of HRV in newborn infants, however, are not widely available. This problem may be partially attributed to the lack of standardization of different methods. This study assessed HRV in normal newborn infants using 24-hour Holter monitoring. From 1997 to 2000, we p...

Heart Rate Variability in Healthy Population

Background: Heart rate variability has been considered as an indicator of autonomic status. Little work has been done on heart rate variability in normal healthy volunteers. We aimed at evolving the reference values of heart rate variability in our healthy population. Methods: Twenty-four hour holter monitoring of 37 healthy individuals was done using Holter ECG recorder ‘Life card CF’ from ‘Re...

Universal structures of normal and pathological heart rate variability

The circulatory system of living organisms is an autonomous mechanical system softly tuned with the respiratory system, and both developed by evolution as a response to the complex oxygen demand patterns associated with motion. Circulatory health is rooted in adaptability, which entails an inherent variability. Here, we show that a generalized N-dimensional normalized graph representing heart r...
